How group emdr works

You can move forward from this.

Group EMDR is an evidence-based method to prevent psychological trauma and instill resiliency and resourcing skills after exposure to traumatic incident, including secondary trauma. When implemented soon after the event, it can significantly reduce the risk of development of PTSD symptoms. It is an introspective method and therefore participants do not have to talk about their experiences out loud.

Participants will have the opportunity to…

  • Feel relief

  • Process a sticky patient story

  • Improve mental and emotional capacity

  • Resolve confusion about events

  • Reduce burnout

  • Work introspectively without being asked or required to share anything out loud

  • Organize their thoughts and beliefs about events

  • Learn grounding resourcing skills for stabilization

  • Go home with more coping skills
